Visual Storytelling Through Hair.

Hair is never just hair.
It is memory. It is language. It is resistance. It is art.

CTC Poses

CTC Poses is a creative collective and program dedicated to reshaping how Black hair is seen, understood, and remembered. Through concept-driven photo and video projects, we create visuals that center natural hair as powerful, nuanced, and worthy of reverence.

Our work exists at the intersection of culture, fashion, education, and advocacy—challenging Eurocentric beauty norms while building an archive of representation for generations to come.

Our Creative Philosophy

We believe representation is not accidental—it is designed.

Each CTC Poses project begins with a question:
What story does this hair tell?

From there, we build narratives that honor texture, shape, movement, and meaning. We do not style hair to fit a trend—we style it to reflect identity, ancestry, and lived experience. Our visuals are affirmations for those who see themselves reflected and invitations for others to see Black hair with greater depth and respect.

Crowns of the Diaspora

A visual exploration of the beauty, versatility, and diversity of Black hair across the diaspora. From afros to locs, twists to wigs, each look honors the individuality of our crowns while reflecting a shared cultural legacy. This shoot celebrates the truth that no two curls are the same—and that our differences are what make the crown whole.
